I'm eager to read more of your work. My daughter is a twice exceptional student. She's brilliant, highly creative, and her verbal skills astound me. The challenges she has experienced in school led us to an outdoor ed school program. While she's thriving in the areas of social emotional learning and presents herself as a happy kid, I'm still unsure about her academic progress. It's so hard finding schools that truly provide both. The individualized instruction and a community that is rooted in respect, kindness, and values nature. Thank you for sharing your work. I'm excited to follow along.

Hi Grace! Thank you for your comment and for sharing some about your daughter. I have a series of posts that outline the non-negotiables for a learning environment to be appropriate for a 2e child on my Substack. These non-negotiables were identified through the research of Dr. Susan Baum (godmother of 2e) and her colleagues. They are titled, "A Recipe for Thriving..." First and foremost is creating a sense of psychological safety in the learning environment for the child. The space to be happy and develop self-regulation skills are the bedrock for any appropriate 2e learning environment.
